good advice…but I have yet to see a very large portion the top DJ’s in the world scratch in a performance (not saying they can’t). depends on what you’re doing I suppose. If you’re just trying to hold a residency somewhere as a job it definitely would help.

Yes i do agree with Dj Advice,i have been a Dj in my country Kampal – Uganda for 8years.I really need to get scratching game because its had for me to scratch two tracks at once.I really wish to learned more about Djin’ and scratching too!!

Agree With Dj Advice I have Been a Dj For Almost 10years And I think You Need To Get Your Scratching Game Right. I say This Because I Find it hard to scratch yet I can Even Mix With My Foot.. Lol. So Scratching Is Really Important because i Always Wish I Learned Earlier

I’ve been DJin for over twenty years and I also feel that scratching isn’t what sets you a part. I enjoy the power to make the crowd stay on the floor hittin them with mixes and at the end have them come up to me and say damn…your good!!!!

To be a well rounded DJ, you have to be able to do both. I’m not saying you should scratch to every track you play throughout the night, but a well placed routine once or twice over the course of a night will make you stand out from others who only mix. If you can’t scratch well though, I wouldn’t try it yet. Wait until you’re good at it. Standing apart from other DJs is a big key to making a name for yourself.

actually i havent found this tip much useful cuz scratching isnt enough to make u better than the others i think what makes u better is if u can take control of the crowd and make them feel what u feel throughout ur music and actually even that isnt enough i think the next step should be adding a midi keyboard next to u and play solos of ur own along with the music u play…that will help make u the best nowadays
