You can find DJ Equipment on the internet for much cheaper than at local music stores. My favorite online stores for DJ gear are Musicians Friend and Amazon.com. They are both companies that have been around for a long time, so you know they treat their customers right. Most of the time they have the best prices for all sorts of DJ and club equipment.
I've been ripped off by other sites before, having to wait weeks for equipment to finally reach me, getting damaged gear, or having stuff on backorder for months.
Many people use Ebay as well, but I've had many bad experiences. Used DJ equipment can have many problems. Ebay sellers lie all the time about how old something is or how much use it's had. I've bought turntables from Ebay that seemed to work fine at first, then broke down a month later.
While you may think you are saving money buying used on Ebay, you end up spending much more repairing or re-buying equipment later after it breaks down. My advice is to buy new, and it will last you many years. (You can always re-sell it on Ebay yourself when you're done with it!)
